Join us at the Martin Luther King JR building, to celebrate Black History Month and Community Healing days where we’ll be launching a new Shared Reading group which will focus on the literature of Black writers.

Shared Reading groups are free, weekly sessions where stories and poems are read aloud, and thoughts and personal reflections are shared. All of our groups are welcome to everyone and free to attend.

Inspired by Dr Maya Angelou, Community Healing Days are an initiative to celebrate the resilience of Black communities and to promote solidarity.

“Take a day to heal from the lies you’ve been told and the ones you’ve told yourself.” – Maya Angelou

Discover Shared Reading and meet the Black Liverpudlian artists and writers who will be exhibiting their work as part of the day’s events.
