What's Happening?

For the next few months, we are changing the way we work, in order to bring literature to life in your home, wherever you are. The Reader at Home initiative will bring you wonderful reading materials, Shared Reading online and by phone and more.

Whether you’re a member of one of our groups, a volunteer or a partner organisation, we hope there is something for you. And if you’re new to The Reader, we hope we can inspire you to get involved in the community.

Our Volunteers

It’s more important than ever for all of our volunteers to look after themselves as well as their group members. We’re running online shared reading groups for our volunteers as well as a special programme of monthly support sessions.

We hope you’ll take advantage of our online support. To find out how to get involved, visit the Shared Reading Community Hub. If you don’t have a login, email

Partner Organisations

If you’re a charity, prison, NHS body or other organisation who is keen to bring the comfort and escapism of reading to people you support, you may be interested in our new free reading activity packs. We’d love to hear from you.
