An Evening with The Reader and & Special Guest Imtiaz Dharker
Join The Reader at New Brighton Floral Pavilion for an evening of Shared Reading where we’ll be focusing on award winning poet, Imtiaz Dharker’s collection, ‘Shadow Reader’.
Described by Jackie Kay as one of the best British BAME writers, Imtiaz Dharker’s poems are a firm favourite with Shared Reading groups. She will be joining us live to read from and talk about ‘Shadow Reader’, a collection which pays attention to willful erasures, exclusions and also to places of sanctuary. While her poems acknowledge the everyday and its shadows, they are also an irreverent, playful celebration of life.
Copies of the book will be available to purchase with the opportunity to have them signed.
Best suited for 16+
No prior reading experience is required. There is no pressure to read aloud – sit back, relax and listen.
