Work Experience Opportunities
We recognise that not all young people have found their passion or purpose so our aim is for those who aren’t on a career path to experience different aspects of the workplace on a multi-purpose site.
On a work experience placement at The Reader, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about all the different departments that help keep the organisation running.
You can get outdoors and work with our Operations and Facilities teams on things like site maintenance and event planning, as well as working behind the scenes with our Marketing, Development and HR teams too.
You can also enjoy hands-on experience in some of our customer facing services roles based in our café, shop and Ice Cream Parlour.
During your work experience placement at The Reader you’ll develop practical, real-life skills that you can use in the working world, and help you grow in confidence.
You’ll learn about things like health and safety, office administration, team work, and customer service, as well as having the chance to take part in Shared Reading sessions.
