The Reader at Calderstones temporary site closure
Since we reopened our Calderstones site following lockdown, we’ve put extra steps in place to ensure that we’re operating as a Covid-safe enterprise. In line with government guidance, we’ve implemented new systems and processes to protect the health and wellbeing of our customers and staff, including regular risk assessments, staff training and increased cleaning schedules.
As a responsible and community-based organisation, we take any risk to our customers and staff very seriously. As soon as we were informed of a Covid case on site, we took the decision to temporarily close our toilet facilities, the Mansion House, Café and Ice Cream Parlour for a thorough deep clean. We have also contacted the relevant authorities to share information and take further advice about the appropriate next steps. Anyone who needs to isolate will be contacted by NHS Track and Trace and advised to do so.
We’ve done this straight away this morning as a precaution because we want to do everything we can to minimise any potential spread in our community. We wanted to be honest with everyone about why we have closed for a short period because it’s the right thing to do and we know that our community will support us in this decision and work with us through this difficult time.
We’ll continue to provide updates as the situation develops.
