Volunteering gives me a sense of achievement
Whether you’re looking to lead a Shared Reading group in your local area or to get involved in activities at our organisational home in Calderstones Park, we have a variety of volunteering opportunities on offer.
Whichever way you choose to volunteer with us, Shared Reading will be at the heart of your experience. All volunteers receive training and ongoing support, as well as access to some brilliant resources.
If you’d like to find out more, please fill out the form below, letting us know where you’re based and how you could help.
We’ll aim to contact you within five working days to explore next steps.
Things to Know
Your volunteering journey with The Reader will start with a chat so that, together, we can find the best role for you.
You’ll then be invited to take part in training, followed by a comprehensive induction process. This may take a little time, but it ensures you and your Readers have the best possible experience with us.
Volunteers need to be age 18+.
If you don’t see anything suitable today, please do sign up to our newsletter or follow us on social media (@thereaderorg) as we may well have opportunities in your area coming soon.
Other ways to volunteer
We have volunteering roles beyond our Reader Leader oppportunities.
You can volunteer at our home in Calderstones Park (Liverpool) or become a Reading Hero to read with children online or in-person.
