New national lockdown: an update from Calderstones
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
J.R.R. Tolkien – The Fellowship of The Ring
As we prepare to go into lockdown once more, we’ve decided that we can best protect our staff, customers and community by closing our facilities at Calderstones for the time being. The Ice Cream Parlour and external toilets will be closed tomorrow until further notice.
While our doors are closed, we’ll still be working away to make sure that we’re ready to welcome everyone back as soon as it’s safe.
Please know that just because we’re in lockdown, this doesn’t mean we have to be alone.
We’re here for you online and over the phone through our Shared Reading groups, which are friendly, free and open to all.
There’s no pressure to read or talk, you can just bring along a cup of tea, listen and get lost in a good story. To find out more, call 0151 729 2250 or email coronavirus@thereader.org.uk
Once again, thank you for your support, we hope to see you again soon.
