Gustavo the Shy Ghost
Join us in the Storybarn this October Half Term to explore this wonderful picture book by Flavia Z. Drago.
This event is best suited for children between 4 – 9 but the whole family is welcome. Infants under 1 go free, but will still need a ticket.
Come and meet Gustavo a multi-talented ghost with a big heart and a love a music! Sessions take place at various times from Saturday 23, capacity is limited so please click here to BOOK EARLY to avoid disappointment.
Outdoor Festive Story Trail – Harvey Slumfenburger’s Christmas Present
Bundle up, put on wellies and bring your family on a festive and fully accessible trail around Calderstones Park, based on John Burningham’s classic Walker Books story.
Sessions cost £12.99 for a family, and you will receive a gift-wrapped copy of the picture book to take home, share and enjoy for many Christmases to come.

A Shared Reading group for infants under 1 and their grown-ups, because it’s never too early to start enjoying reading for pleasure with your little one! Our Tiny Acorns programme run for six-weeks, every Friday from 2.30pm – 4pm. Due to popular demand we have also added a Thursday 10am – 11.30am slot. Book places here.
Books and Brambles
Books and Brambles is a six-week adventure of exciting weekends filled with an hour and a half of great stories, mud, minibeasts, art and activities for children and their grown-ups to experience together. Winter sessions begin in November, and will take place in and around the Storybarn and Calderstones Park depending on the weather! This activity is aimed at children aged 4 – 9 and their grown ups – find out more here.
Incy Wincy Rhymers
Incy Wincy Rhymers sessions are carefully crafted for you and your little ones (aged 1 – 4). Explore classic stories, family favourites and nursery rhymes through storytelling and sing-a-longs.
Sessions are held weekly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at various times and we strongly recommend booking in advance as places are limited and we expect these sessions to be popular. Book here NOW!
Storybarn Welly Walks
Combining the whimsy of our Storybarn with the exciting heritage of Calderstones Park, each 1hr fully-accessible walk will be based on a different theme and be combined with a gorgeous picture book.
