Can we make every day National Poetry Day?
A week on from National Poetry Day, we wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible. Whether it was sharing or downloading our special Change anthology or enjoying our series of digital poetry readings.
On our YouTube and Twitter pages, our Patron Blake Morrison, volunteers and staff at Calderstones and The Storybarn, and People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt read from the Change anthology, while our founder and director, Jane Davis, made her Facebook Live debut. If you missed Jane on the day, you can hear her readings and thoughts below:
Luciana Berger, Member of Parliament for Liverpool Wavertree and Patron of our Shared Reading North West project shared her favourite poem, while staff, visitors and customers at Liverpool South Parkway, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and on Arriva North West's buses also enjoyed free poetry on their journeys.
A huge thanks must also go to our friends at National Poetry Day for continuing to champion poetry and making wonderful days such as this possible.
