Read to Lead at Dartington Hall: Be an Early Bird
Read to Lead at Dartington Hall, 29th - 31st October 2012
We know that the end of October may seem a long way away, but we're already looking forward to a special Read to Lead course at the beautiful Dartington Hall, Devon. That's why we're offering a 10% early bird discount on applications received and approved by Monday 17th September.
This open course will look to grow the shared reading presence even further across the South West, and promises to be stimulating and inspiring in equal measure. Over three intensive and enjoyable workshops, you will be introduced to the ethos and practice of shared reading as developed by The Reader Organisation, an emerging practice that is putting reading great literature aloud at the heart of our everyday lives. You will experience the power of shared reading for yourself, and learn behaviours and values that will enable you to bring shared reading to others, wherever you are, whatever you do.
"These three days on Read to Lead have taught me more about reading than my MA in literature ever did!" - Mette Steenberg, Shared Reading Practitioner
As well as embarking upon a fun and intensive three days of shared reading, this Read to Lead course will give you the chance to enjoy the cultural and literary heritage and stunning surroundings of Dartington Hall, providing a literary retreat that allows you to immerse yourself in thinking about great literature.
Taking advantage of this bargain price will give you access to a 12-month Read to Lead journey with The Reader Organisation, enabling you to establish and run shared reading groups in your area or workplace - the three-day kick-off at Dartington is only the beginning!
So, get your skates on and send in your application to Roisin Hyland, Training Coordinator, by e-mailing roisinhyland@thereader.org.uk or call 0151 207 7207 for more information.
