Running for The Reader Organisation
It's fair to say that we're no strangers to epic sporting challenges here at The Reader Organisation and some friends of TRO are taking on a new feat of strength, all to support the Reading Revolution.
Sheena Davies and her two children will be taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival in May, fundraising for The Reader Organisation. Back in June 2011, Sheena and her husband, Councillor Phil Davies (Leader of Wirral Borough Council), cycled a mammoth 504 miles around Skye and the North West Highlands of Scotland on their 'Recycling Johnson' route, raising over £1,000 to support Get Into Reading.
This time around, Sheena and her daughter Rona will be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 26th May. On the same day, Sheena's son Iain will be going double the distance, running the Edinburgh Marathon. All three will be running to help support The Reader Organisation and our outreach work.
If you're not making the trek down to Edinburgh, you can show your support at the special Charity Giving page: http://www.charitygiving.co.uk/edinburghmarathons
Every pound and penny will help to urge the Davies family team on to victory!
Good luck Sheena, Rona and Iain - we'll be thinking of you as you pound those pavements!
