Shared Reading for Healthy Communities: The Reader Organisation’s National Conference 2013
Thursday 16th May, British Library Conference Centre, Euston Road, London, NW1 2DB
Tickets are now on sale for The Reader Organisation's fourth annual National Conference, Shared Reading for Healthy Communities.
The conference will explore how our pioneering shared reading project, Get Into Reading, addresses the need for social inclusion, meaningful activity, and better health in communities across the UK.
If you're a commissioner, a practitioner, or a leader from across public and mental health, criminal justice, social care, community and education services, or a professional from the private and third sector, then our conference offers an invaluable opportunity to examine the impact of shared reading as a whole population approach in the context of national policies and strategies.
Conference Outline
The Reader Organisation has a proven track record engaging with many of the hardest to reach individuals in society to build stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.
The morning session, Healthy People, will focus on public health, mental health, and dementia care, whilst the afternoon, Connected Communities, will focus on criminal justice, young people, addiction recovery, libraries and academic research.
Confirmed speakers include Jane Davis, founder and director of The Reader Organisation and Stephen Dalton, Chief Executive of Mental Health Network at NHS Confederation - visit our website for the full list.
