Celebrate Volunteers’ Week with us
It's officially Volunteers’ Week 2021 so we want to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers here at The Reader.
Over the last year, our volunteers have adapted to unimaginable changes and helped us continue to offer vital services to children and adults across the UK.
Reader Leaders have moved Shared Reading groups online, Reading Heroes have enjoyed remote one-to-one reading sessions with children, and volunteers have supported vulnerable adults by reading with them over the phone.

As we prepare to reopen the Mansion House to the public, our volunteers at Calderstones will help us bring the space to life and welcome the community back.
We know that there are many, many people who’ve had to press ‘pause’ on their involvement during the Covid-19 crisis but are ready and waiting to join us again. We want to thank you too: for your patience, your understanding and your continued support.
We’re inviting all of our volunteers to join us for a special online event on Thursday 3 June from 10am – 12pm, where we can say thank you again and spend some time delving in to our new Walking The Earth anthology together.
There’s still time to sign up if you haven’t already, just email us at learning@threader.org.uk and we’ll get you booked in.
We’d love to see how you’re celebrating Volunteers’ Week. Share your photos and messages with our social media accounts @thereaderorg on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #VoluntersWeek.
