Children’s author, Sally Nicholls, visits the Storybarn
Acclaimed children’s writer, Sally Nicholls, visited the Storybarn yesterday to read from her new picture book The Nose, Toes and Tummy Book.
The visit was part of a fun day for families from the Granby and Dingle Lane Children’s Centres, which we organised with funding from the Steve Morgan Foundation.
The diversely illustrated and interactive book offers a new twist on body books for babies, introducing body parts to toddlers, encouraging interaction and play together.
Nicola Morgan from Liverpool Children’s Centres said “It has been such a lovely trip out; we have never been to the Storybarn before or Calderstones Park!”
Kara Orford, The Reader’s Head of Children & Young People, said “It’s been a real treat to welcome Sally to the Storybarn and to see the families’ response to The Nose, Toes and Tummy Book.
“Family Fun Days at the Storybarn aim to give all families an opportunity to experience the joy of reading for pleasure, which we know can have such a big impact on a child’s future prospects.
“We’re grateful to the Steve Morgan Foundation for supporting these visits and to Sally’s publisher, Andersen Press, who have donated 20 signed copies of the book for our families.”
The Nose, Toes and Tummy Book is available to buy from April 6th in all good book shops, including The Reader Bookshop in person or online!
