Get Ahead Fred
Fred has written to tell us all about his new collection of hats...
Greetings hatfans!
I'm Fred, the man about town with a hat for every occasion. Stetsons, bowlers, berets... you name it, I've got it!
I'm extremely proud of my collection, just don't mention me to the Queen (I had a narrow escape there, I can tell you). Here I am, the hapless hero of my first book - what better place to show off my hats to the world! I'm brimming with excitement (boom boom).
Get Ahead Fred is a cautionary tale for kids that teaches biggest is not always best. Written and illustrated by Daisy Dawes, the story is brought to life with beautiful hand-made models and hand-written rhyming text.
Daisy has worked as a model maker for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, children's TV series Pingu and Aardman's Rex the Runt.
Get Ahead Fred is available now in all good bookshops and online.
Fred has lots of exciting adventures and events to look forward to... keep up to date with what's going on at www.myspace.com/getaheadfred or www.maverickbooks.co.uk
Fred is also the star of his own animated films - have a look at him in action on www.youtube.com/user/maverickbooks
"Get Ahead Fred is very funny, very quirky, and I absolutely loved it when it came in." Mark Thornton, BBC Radio
"Brilliant model illustrations bring Fred and his hats gloriously to life in this fun caper." Angels and Urchins magazine
