Spring refresh – The Reader Café reopens Saturday 30 April
‘Nothing is so beautiful as Spring –
When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush’
From ‘Spring’ by Gerard Manley Hopkins
The Reader Café will be closed for a spring refresh from Monday 25 to Friday 29 April 2022.
The improvements to the Café will make grabbing a coffee for your walk around Calderstones Park much quicker. We’ll be extending the counter area so that there is more space for staff and we’ll be installing two coffee machines to make queuing times much shorter.
Whilst the Café is closed next week we’ll be keeping the the Ice Cream Parlour and Hatch open a little longer than usual to make sure any hungry or thirsty visitors are well catered for. We’ll have our usual selection of breakfast pastries, pasties, sausage rolls and cakes available from the Ice Cream Parlour, and at the Hatch you can get tubs of ice cream, lolly ices, filter coffee and tea.
The Ice Cream Parlour will be open 8.30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
The Hatch (at the side of the Mansion House) will be open 11am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Those worried about being stuck in a queue for ice cream will be delighted to know that we are also introducing our new ‘Scooper’ where you can get a fresh scoop of Ice Cream in the seating area outside of the Café.
When the Café re-opens on Saturday 30 April the new opening times will be Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm and Saturday to Sunday 8.30am - 6pm.
Thanks for your support – we'll see you soon!
