Open Gardens Day
The Reader Organisation are thrilled to be taking part in this year’s Open Gardens Day, which takes place this Sunday June 26, from 12-5pm. Five inspirational spaces around the Sefton Park area will be open for visitors throughout the day:
- Parkmount, 38 Ullet Road
- Sefton Park Allotments, Greenbank Drive
- Sefton Villa, 14 Sefton Drive
- Vice Chancellor’s Garden, 12 Sefton Park Road
- York House, Croxteth Drive (NEW FOR 2011)
Get Into Reading group facilitators and group memberswill be running shared reading groups throughout the day at the lodge in the Vice Chancellor’s Garden. All are invited to join in, learn more about the work we do and experience the joy of shared reading in a truly beautiful setting.
Along with our reading group, the day will also feature classical music, plants for sale from Ness Gardens, a Slow Food stall giving out seeds and information and plenty of refreshments. The day kicks off at 11 am with a bonsai talk and demonstration at 14 Sefton Drive from St Helens gardener Geoff Brown, an expert in Japanese garden style.
