This leaf from a tree in the East, Has been given to my garden It reveals a certain secret, Which pleases me and thoughtful people. – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, ‘Ginkgo Biloba’

Volunteers from across The Reader were invited to submit poems to this anthology with submissions coming from those working on many of our projects, including Big Lottery Merseyside and Wales, Leicester, Barnet in London, and the Off the Page project in Liverpool.

These recommendations represent the personal and real connection that our volunteers have with literature, as well as being a record of the generous act of engaging with older readers, through reading, talking and sharing thoughts.
